How it Works |
|||
|
The pubococcygeal (PC or "kegel") muscles are the
pelvic floor muscles which are involved in maintaining total bladder control,
supporting the bladder and uterus, as well as allowing one maximum enjoyment of
sex. These muscles are more often than not damaged/stretched during childbirth. One of the most elastic muscles in the body, the PC's were "made" for the progressive resistance exercise provided by the Kegelmaster. |

Note how the arrows, which indicate vaginal contractions, correspond to the exercise points of the Kegelmaster. The droopy 'O'" encircled in dark pink (just to the right of the top arrow) is the female bladder. |
||
|
Incontinence occurs when the weight of the
bladder, unable to be properly supported by damaged PC muscles causes it
to "sag", changing the angle of the bladder, the bladder neck and the
urethra (the canal through which urine flows out of the body), weakening the
bladder neck "seal" under the "stress" of exercising,
sneezing, coughing, lifting, etc. or under the "urge" of a filling
bladder. There is not a woman on the planet who cannot benefit. |

PRIOR
TO APPLICATION
APPLICATION
You are now ready for your initial adjustment!! This is done by turning the knob at the top of the Kegelmaster 2000 counterclockwise - until the knob is no longer touching the top of the Kegelmaster 2000 or until it is slightly uncomfortable. Not to worry, this discomfort is your muscles being put under tension so that the contraction exercise can proceed. NOTE: If the knob is off the top of the Kegelmaster 2000 and you don't feel any pressure from the Kegelmaster 2000 putting resistance against the vaginal muscles, then you will have to add another spring. If you have the right tension, squeeze down against the Kegelmaster 2000. Make sure you are only using the vaginal muscles. Do not use abdominal or buttocks muscles. If you are easily able to clamp down with your vaginal muscles completely (you will feel or hear a "click") for thirty reps (closings), carefully screw the unit shut and remove the unit from your vagina and change the position of the spring, moving forward one pin (see Power Spring Combinations). If you are still able to easily close down all the way, for thirty reps - after insertion, then you must move the single spring back to the rear pin (1) and add a spring to the next forward pin (2), then repeat the process.
The ideal spring tension is determined by one's ability to close the Kegelmaster 2000 at the beginning of the exercise and become unable to close it completely at the end of 30 reps. This is not hard to do and it is a lot of fun to see how many of the springs you can squeeze for 30 reps, having difficulty with the last five. The exercise sequence starts with 3 sets of 30 reps daily. With each rep you attempt complete closure of the Kegelmaster 2000, pausing in-between each set of 30 reps for 15 seconds. It is recommended to work up to 6 sets of 30 reps a minimum of 3 times a week. An individual may do more sets, but it is not advisable to exceed 30 reps. A final fatigue of the muscle when the last rep is performed is your goal. It is very difficult to overexercise vaginal muscles, however the Kegelmaster2000 works so well, you may have to relax for a few minutes before you can remove it after a really good workout! *If you have what is known as "urge" incontinence, you must take a much less aggressive approach in using the Kegelmaster2000. It is easier initially for "urge" sufferers to realize dramatic improvement, but setbacks have occurred when graduating to the next strength setting.
